Bioética no laboratório clínico: elementos para a elaboração de um manual bioético no atendimento laboratorial

Abstract

Bioethics applied to the medical laboratory, is the study of human conduct in their mangement, and is essential to ensure the quality of the service provided to the community. Participation in quality programs should be to: avoid unfair practices, comply with good practices in clinical laboratory, ensuring the confidentiality of the information, the well-being, the reliability and the confidence of the patient. Has as main principles: non-maleficence, beneficence, autonomy and justice (equity). Hossne in 2006 proposed the use of concepts, called by him referentials, to facilitate understanding and discussion of ethical problems. It is, among others: dignity, solidarity, fraternity, confidentiality, privacy, vulnerability and reponsability, beyond the principles. Applied to laboratory test, from the choice of the institution by the person, in pre-analytical, analitycal, pos-analytical phases, to the report, comes to alert the pathologist and other professionals involved in this routine, problems arising from the system can be avoided. Our target is to make this alert, recommending its application in laboratory routine, to avoid conflicts. And once it occur, help to solve. We seek to bring to the discussion the use of referential by laboratory professionals, and what its can contribute to the person using it in their routine. We sustain that each lab make its own code of ethics setting vulnerabilities, responsabilities, autonomy, dignity, solidarity, privacy and confidentiality in regard to patients, as well as biological materials, equipments and staff. We will seek to provide the necessary tools for the preparation of this guide for bioethical procedures.
