Resumo: This is an exploratory quantitative/qualitative study, with nursing professionals of a public hospital in the city of São Paulo. The subjects picked up actions proposed from a list based on the National Humanization Policy and the bioethics principles, which they consider interesting to be implemented forwarding a humanized management. The study covered 44 nursing professionals, including nurses, practical nurses and nursing assistants. Data collection took place between the first half of March of 2015, inside the institution, by the application of a checklist and recording and/or bookkeeping the subject´s testimony, based on guiding questions, under ethical usual care. The reports were thoroughly read, and skilled in speech categories for further analysis and discussion and figures suffered statistical analysis to compare the responses of the subjects and significance of disclosure. Qualitative analysis listed the following speech categories relating to the behavior / action manager that humanizes: the manager as communicator; the manager as welcoming as the manager who promotes good interpersonal relationship; the manager promoter of environmental improvements. The humanized management, according to the subjects, is characterized by ethical behavior, nice communication, interpersonal interaction, acceptance, motivation and staff development. The actions marked on the check-list by the subjects which favoring humanized management where: hold meetings/meetings between employees and managers; encourage the participation of employees in the planning of nursing actions; encourage participation in training and courses; encourage dialogue, welcome and praise the development, provide feedback on the quality of work, analyze the factors causing suffering and illness at work and avoid them, train staff. Fisher's exact test, revealed that to baccalaureate nurses, diploma nurses and nursing assistants, these proposed actions receive equal significance and importance, if implemented in order to promote a Humanized Management.
