Cuidados com cateter central de inserção periférica: construção de animação 3D

Abstract

PICC is a venous device inserted into peripheral veins with the distal tip located in the central portion of the vein .The use of PICC maintain the venous access for a prolonged period of time. The study goal was to build a 3D animation as an auxiliary instrument of learning about nursing care to patients using peripherally inserted central catheter, focused on prevention of obstruction by blood reflux. Initially it was a literature study containing the main problems found in nursing care practice with PICC. Subsequently, we designed a script content and essential scenes to the construction of 3D animation. And finally the actual 3D animation. The result was a 3D animation of 64 seconds that demonstrate the PICC inserted into the Right Upper Limb/ cephalic vein with the end tip located in the superior vena cava, connected to a continuous infusion pump. The 3D animation shows the infusion of fluid in the blood stream , blood reflux obstruction and the clearing of an obstruction by the by three way valve catheter technique. The conclusion of the study show that the 3D animation illustrates an important content for education and acquisition of relevant knowledge to the subject and use of a technological way for the learning process of the nursing staff.
