Educação em bioética: diretrizes para ações de formação continuada em bioética para professores em exercício no ensino fundamental e médio

Abstract

In the last decades of its history, there was a vast literature about bioethics and what it concerns to teaching and interdisciplinary with other areas in knowledge, especially health area, what reassures its sense of contributing to mankind in evolution process, not only in biological aspect, but also in the cultural one, reflecting, comprehending and trying to solve arising problems coming from biotechnological revolution that affects people’s life and society. The construction process of this study aimed to identify, in literature, some common points between Bioethics and Education, on the opportunity and necessity of implementing Bioethics study in fundamental and high school levels of education and on the continuing formation as an answer to the teachers’ demand to attempt to teaching in these phases of educational process. Based on the analysis of documents that care about continuing formation actions performed among teachers of fundamental and high school levels - Projeto de Educação Continuada – Convênio Secretaria de Estado de São Paulo (SEE), Universidade Estadual Paulista “Júlio de Mesquita Filho” (UNESP), Fundação para o Desenvolvimento da UNESP (FUNDUNESP) and Núcleo de Ensino – Bauru Campus, in the period between 1996/1998 and with university teachers - Projeto de Formação Contínua de Docentes da Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) under the coordination of Pró-Reitoria de Graduação/ Núcleo de Estudos e Práticas Pedagógicas, comprehended between 2005/2012, some directions were proposed for continuing formation actions in Bioethics for teachers in fundamental and high school levels that may, in the future, subsidize concrete actions on this area, aiming to provide theoretical and methodological conditions for the teachers at work in order to hand with bioethical questions in the development of the pedagogical political project they work with.
