Programa de residência médica em ginecologia e obstetrícia: treinamento em cuidados paliativos uma necessidade bioética

Abstract

The gynecological and mammary neoplasms are responsible for thousands of deaths every year worldwide. In Brazil the incidence and prevalence of breast, cervix, endometrium and ovary neoplasms together provide a worrying scenario for the Brazilian health system. Given this reality, proposed to analyze the content of residency program in gynecology and obstetrics proposed by the Braziliam Ministry of Education and Culture, as regard the approach to teaching techniques of alliative medicine to the gynecologist, as well as the need for a bioethical basement to face the innumerous dilemmas that these professionals will find day by day of rofession. After thorough evaluation of the residency program, it was found that ynecologists do not receive adequate formation about palliative care that are part of the ecommendation of the oncologic treatment recommended by the World Health Organization. Likewise it is not clear on the program a minimum content about bioethics references as needed for a more complete and human care of these women that are found vulnerable and fragile during the oncologic treatment.
